DebbiI am proud to share this wonderful, heart-felt testimonial I just received from Debbi:

Thank you so much I feel like a new Woman, a beautiful Woman!! Over the last few years a lot has gone on in my life and as a result I have gained some weight. I have not felt comfortable in the clothes I have been getting for myself. With your guidance and support doing the hardest thing for me – clothes shopping, I know what to look for now and it feels so Amazing!! You have helped me change my life and words cannot express how grateful I am for you!!

Can you relate to Debbi? I know I can. I think at some point in our lives, we all can. My message: embrace who you are today! Don’t hold on to who you were. Holding on to the jeans that fit 10 lbs. ago or buying sizes that constricts your breathing or exposes way too much skin will only enhance those very areas you are least proud of. Conversely, wearing overly bulky clothes will only make you appear bigger.

My shopping trip with Debbi was both successful and educational. She was looking for a new outfit for work. My arms were over-flowing with skirts, dresses and blouses in various sizes. One by one blouses went onto Debbi’s body and then back to the rack. I reassured Debbi that to find that right piece, it often takes more than a dozen no’s to get to that one YES. Before Debbi came out of the fitting room I heard a delightful squeal – “this is it!” She burst from the dressing room wearing a beautiful multicolored blouse with an elastic waist and a flowing ruffle extended from the v-neck. Perfect! One piece found. Now what to wear on the bottom?

This process did not take long. The first skirt was a fun aqua color (that enhanced the aqua color in the blouse). It was in her “new” size. I reminded her, “you worry about comfort and flattering fit, I will worry about finding the right size.” The skirt fit everywhere except the length. Although Harper’s Bazaar is touting a “longer” skirt length for Fall, this length is not flattering for Debbi. Her skirts need to hit just above the knee. This elongates her leg and will not bring attention to her calves (the fullest part of otherwise flattering legs!). We discarded the blue skirt and then hit the bulls-eye with a white denim pencil skirt. Stunning! She emerged from the dressing room, stepped in front of the mirror proud to see such a stylish woman staring back at her!

Debbi started our trip unsure of what size flatters her new shape. She left the store with a new outfit, a new understanding of shopping for her body and feeling a little bit lighter with a renewed sense of confidence.
